Duke Chapel

The Duke Campus is absolutely beautiful. With the old buildings, the neat landscaping, and of course the Sarah Duke Gardens, it is a site to see. Probably the most well known building on campus is the Duke Chapel. This is located very near the Economics Department where Jared can be found at all hours of the day, and night... The chapel is very popular for weddings (somewhat like the SLC Temple, with the LONG waiting list).

Well, to help get in the Christmas Spirit, they had their annual Handel's Messiah sing-a-long last Sunday. Anyone who wants to can attend. You just bring your music and your singing voice, and join right in with the choir/audience. It's also pretty cool because they have multiple soloists who perform the solo parts throughout.

Jared and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to come the the chapel and sing as loud as we wanted. :) It was a lot of fun, but I must admit that we were a little out of practice and got lost quite a few times with our parts. But we just kept right on singing anyways and had a grand 'ol time. The chapel was beautiful, and we're hoping to attend one of the other Christmas concerts there this month. But, next year, we're definitely gonna practice a bit before hand. :)
Here's both views of the chapel from where we were sitting. It was kinda a faux-gothic style (not being that old, but attempting to look that way). But, it was BEAUTIFUL!
