The Museum of Life and Science

Now, this happened a while ago, but I thought I'd post it anyways.  We took Alia to the Museum of Life and Science, and really had a great time.  The museum is very kid oriented, and I think it'll be a favorite once Alia's a bit older, but even at her age now, she really seemed to enjoy it.  There was a music area where we could dance around on squares and create our own music, there was a farm/petting zoo, a nature walk area, and our favorite stop was the Butterfly House.  This room was full of different butterflies!  It was really neat, and Alia loved to watch 'em flutter by.  We also looked in the Bug Room, per Jared, and it was disgustingly interesting.  All in all, it was a fun afternoon!

Here's a couple of the butterflies.  The blue ones were especially gorgeous!
Alia looks really bored in the pic, but honestly she seemed to really enjoy it.
More butterflies.
Alia almost touched this one before it flew away, but she was watching it forever!
Behind some glass, you could see the butterflies that were either still in the cocoons or even watch 'em hatching.  It was really cool!
I wish my camera was better.  This butterfly was eating and you could actually see its tongue.
Gross, HUGE bugs...cockroaches...
A Rhino Beetle.  This thing was ginormous!
This but was pretty cool.  It took me forever to figure out that there were bugs in this case...they looked so much like leaves!
Mommy and baby enjoying our nature walk.
The black blob in the cave area of this picture was a bear.  We couldn't get any closer, but she was there.
How many butterflies can you see? ;)
