Turkey Day!

Once again we were able to host a Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner with some of our friends here in Durham (and DC).  This is definitely a tradition we would like to continue throughout our time here because it's full of good friends and great food!  This year, we were yet again in charge of the turkey (a whopping 20-pounder) that we herb-roasted "Martha Stewart style".  It turned out really good if I do say so myself. :)  Also, we made mashed potatoes, gravy, and Jared made a delicious homemade cranberry sauce.  In addition, we had a nice veggie tray with homemade ranch dressing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, rolls, shrimp kabobs (???), cranberry ginger ale, and for dessert, a pumpkin pie, an apple pie, and a peach pie.  You really can't get much better than that.  After eating ourselves silly, we played some games, chatted (and talked about what we were each thankful for), and then of course, ate more.  :)  All in all, it was definitely a success, and we had a great time!

Here's the table(s) spread complete with my crystal champagne flutes.
The turkey right after we took it out of the oven.  Jared's already salivating.
What's Thanksgiving without grilled shrimp kabobs? :) (thanks Mike)
Enjoying the bounteous feast.
The "kiddie table". (not really, but we made due with what little room we had)
Jared's FANTASTIC view across the table.
Game time.  A little Celebrity Bowl is always a blast.
Round 3-Charades.
A new secret Bonus Round: Eye's closed, and all you can do is make sounds (no words).
And what Thanksgiving's truly complete without a food coma nap? :)
