Praha

Czech this out. Paved with cobblestone walks, Prague is a city with so many beautiful and interesting sights to see. The architecture was incredible! One of our favorite buildings on our whole trip was the Tyn Cathedral. It looked just like the wicked witch’s castle in Sleeping Beauty. It was especially cool at night when the lights gave an eerie bluish glow to the building.

But we also enjoyed walking on Charles Bridge, visiting the Prague Castle (and seeing the blacksmith at work), visiting the Toy Museum (even tho we had to pay for 2 adults instead of the "family" discount- to quote the lady, "no kids, no family"), and the beautiful Baroque architecture in St. Nicholas’ Church.

We were also able to see the Czech National Symphony perform Glazunof, Rachmaninov, and Stravinski. We visited the old Jewish Quarter and caught glimpses of many Jewish landmarks, such as old synagogues and graveyards (ironically were preserved by Hitler to be museums of the "extinguished race"). We also got hand-made Bohemian crystal ornaments here that are some of the few souvenirs that we got on the trip.

This was definitely one of if not my favorite city! It was fantastic. It was probably the only city that I was truly disappointed to leave because I felt like I hadn't experienced enough of it. Ahhh...Prague....

This is one of the Jewish Synagogues in the Old Jewish Quarter.
This is a blacksmith up at the castle. He's making a metal corkscrew. It was really cool to watch.
Here's Jared on Charles Bridge, on of the most touristy spots in Prague.
This is inside St. Nicholas' church. It had the coolest interior Baroque architecture. Everything was pastel pinks and greens. So pretty!
We got to watch the changing of the guard up at the castle. It was fun to watch.
This is an outside view of the castle cathedral. I love the gothic architecture!
The toy museum had a complete floor dedicated to the evolution of Barbie. We were thrilled to see this particular Barbie on display. Go BYU (in Prague)!
This is aparently referred to as the "Mona Lisa" of toys by toy fanatics. It's a fully functioning tin structure of the side of a mountain. It had mining and water transport functions and everything.
This is a view of the castle. The overcast sky made every building seem even eerier looking.
I absolutely LOVED the cobblestone walks that lined practically every street in the entire city!
This is my absolute favorite building, the Tyn Cathedral. It's so awesome!
This is a part of the Tyn Plaza located right next to our hostle. I just loved the look of the buildings.
And this is inside the symphony hall where we got to see the Czech National Symphony perform.
