We were soooooo excited to have our friend, Kirsten and her two kids
fly out from California to visit. It had been almost 2 years since the
last time I saw her, which is WAY too long. Plus, I finally got to meet
her little girl, and she got to meet Alia. But most importantly, the
girls got to meet each other, and Alia met her future husband. :)
We had so much fun during their visit. We visited some of the
local sites (particularly the fun kid spots), threw Alia a birthday
party, and Kirsten and I had a girls night. We had such a blast, and we
miss them already! Here's some pix from the trip,
We took them to the Life and Science Museum and Butterfly House:
| Britton checking out some bugs up close. |
| Alia banging on some cans. They had great fun making "music". |
| Britton showing off his fossil that he dug up in the fossil pit. |
| BFFs already! |
| The dinosaur walk |
Then, we went to Pullen Park in Raleigh. It had a huge playground, carousel, pond w/boats, and train that went around the park:
| Kaia LOVED the carousel, she cried when it was time to get off. |
| Alia, not so much, she was terrified! |
| Boarding the train. |
| Swings! |
| The girls. |
| This was Alia's first time swing by herself, she LOVED it! |
| We were asked a
couple times if the girls were twins. Jared and Kirsten evidently made
a cute family, I was the nanny behind the camera. :) |
| That's right, Ashworth Village! |
And we took them to Duke Gardens. Things hadn't quite bloomed yet, but it was still pretty:
| Kaia loves the camera! |
| So does Britton! |
| It was so fun watching Alia walk around, she's just so tiny. |
| Kaia taking a break. |
| Me and my 2 favorite people in the world. |
| Some more of my favorite people! |
Some fun pix from the house:
| Bathtime! |
| They had a blast climbing all over each other on the bed. |
| Love how alike the girls look in their ballerina pjs! |
| Kirsten and I
made matching dresses for the girls! Although I had no idea that this
was the first real time Kirsten worked on a sewing machine, I loved
having a friend to sew with. |
Girls' night with one of my besties! :)
Love ya, Reeders! 2 years is WAY too long! |
